Gardenpalooza offers garden-themed yard games, live music, food trucks and a cooking demonstration featuring locally-sourced products, a raffle, and more.

Entry to the event is free, but guests are encouraged to register ahead of time and purchase "Garden Gold" used for food, beverages, and special activities.

PYO (Pick Your Own) Marketing with Patrick Byers

Customers love the on-farm experience, and specialty crop growers can turn this interest into profits through pick your own marketing. Many crops – fruits, vegetables, cut flowers – are excellent choices for this marketing approach. The workshop will focus on the planning process for success with PYO, choosing PYO crops, and operating a PYO farm market. The instructor is University of Missouri Extension horticulture field specialist Patrick Byers.

Millsap Farms Walk: Seedling and Transplant Production

From fruits to flowers to trees to vegetables, Millsap Farms begin their crop from seed and utilize greenhouses and other protective structures to grow seedlings until they are ready for transplanting. Learn how they've built a business around this critical aspect and their methods of success in person at Millsap Farms.

Welcome families with children of all ages!
Join the Heirloom Seed Library and Springfield Community Gardens for a seed planting party in honor of Earth Day! Activities include story time, crafts, information about joining SCG's 4-H club, and garden fun. This event will move to the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library in the event of inclement weather.
