In-Person Composting Demonstration with Springfield Compost Collective
Sat. July 16th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM CST (1126 N Broadway Ave, Springfield, MO 65802)
Join Springfield Compost Collective’s Board President, Justine Francesca, at SCG’s Market Garden for an in-depth composting demonstration. We will be building up compost in a three-bin system, so come out to see the process first hand and get your composting questions answered!
This is an outdoor event so please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray if desired. Participants will have the option to help build the compost, so wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Millsap Farms Walk: Irrigation
Weds. July 20th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM CST (6593 N Emu Lane, Springfield, MO 65803)
Your farm or garden irrigation system should factor in the types of crops you’re growing, the initial and ongoing costs, labor requirements, size and shape of your field, and the water source itself. Come walk and talk about irrigation practices with Curtis Millsap of Millsap Farms.
No registration is necessary for this in person event, however selecting 'Going' on the Facebook event is helpful for planning purposes. Please be sure to bring a water bottle, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and bug repellent if you desire.

Spots Available for SCG's Half Day Summer Camp! The Grow to Ride 4-H Club brings together youth aged 7-12 from economically challenged neighborhoods to develop personal responsibility through horsemanship, learn the importance of food sustainability, and provide service to their communities. Join us for the first ever half-day summer camp taking place Monday, July 25 - Friday, July 29 from 9:00 am -1:00 pm daily, with drop off starting as early as 8:00 am. All participants must be enrolled in Greene County 4-H. The camp fee is $200 with full scholarships available upon request.
